My entry for this weeks Sunday Sketches hosted by Sophia, is from the Stretching to Sketch challenge by Kelly Berkey. I had lots of fun doing this and I hadn't used pastels in ages, so it was lovely to do. Kelly will be posting up all the entries soon so please keep on checking her blog to find out when.
I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday. I'm off to a BBQ later, which considering it's March and raining in London, it should interesting!
Happy Sunday! xx

Absolutely gorgeous! I love this! Did you use oil pastels or the chalk pastels? Either way, it's simply amazing!

Wow, great effect with the pastels. You are brave to be BBQ-ing in March. Stay dry!

Well done. I love the soft look of the pastels :)
I popped over to Kelly's blog to check the inspiration... fabulous! I love the softer effects of yours as opposed to the original photo.
Bravo! You did a wonderful job. Great work! The pastels were a perfect choice.
Stunning!xoxo
Thanks for all your comments, it blew me away.
To answer a couple of questions, I used chalk pastels and you fix the pastels with a fixative you can buy in a any art shop. You can also use hairspray, although I don't know about the longevity of this.
The BBQ was good fun, but a bit cold....still it had stopped raining by then!
